The 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Models
Redesigned, refreshed, and ready to tour
Introduced early summer 2023, Harley-Davidson’s new CVO models are true game changers in the motorcycle world. The new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide take the iconic touring motorcycles to a whole new level with refreshed fairings, a redesigned fuel tank, and even new, refreshed LED lighting.
Both the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide have the new Milwaukee Eight VVT 121 Powertrain: the highest displacement powertrain to be factory-installed on a Harley-Davidson Touring motorcycle. With liquid-cooled cylinder heads, variable valve timing, a new intact tract in addition to increased displacement; the redesigned engine produces more power and torque than previous models, and VVT improves fuel economy.
Producing 115 horsepower, these bikes are serious business and serious fun, but no need to sweat about keeping the rubber down: Rider safety enhancements like ABS, Electronic Linked Braking, Traction Control, and Vehicle Hold Control help riders maintain control in adverse conditions. Vehicle Hold Control applies and holds brake pressure when activated and prevents the motorcycle from rolling after the rider releases brake controls: perfect for those pesky stop lights on hills, stop and go traffic, or even parking structures. Applying brake pressure until the rider engages the throttle and clutch to pull away, allowing riders to ride away with confidence. While looking a little silly due to a stall on a hill happens to all of us, VHC helps prevent that from happening!
Paint schemes, like previous CVO models, are pretty special. Both the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide come in two new paint schemes: Dark Platinum– a cool dark silver– with a pinstripe accent, and Whiskey Neat with Raven Metallic; a burnt orange with dark gray and silver accents. Lustrous and deep, these high gloss paint schemes are fresh, but timeless, they are sure to stand the test of time, but the refresh goes beyond just the paint.
The CVO Street Glide’s redesigned batwing fairing has a fresh, sculpted silhouette, and comes complete with integrated LED lighting and a splitstream vent opening. Computational fluid dynamics were used to improve aerodynamics, bringing a refreshed look to the iconic batwing. The new 6 gallon fuel tank features the classic, Harley-Davidson teardrop shape, but with a new tailored profile and distinctive beveled edge. Saddlebags have been refreshed too; with an extension of the aggressive lines in the bike’s fairing and fuel tank for an increase in overall capacity. A true touring machine!
The new CVO Road Glide shares the colorways and gas tank with the CVO Street Glide, but features a new design for the iconic Sharknose Fairing. A wider integrated LED headlight optimizes visibility and integrates turn signals, to accentuate the lines of the sharknose fairing. Both new CVO models share a new, innovative wheel set, with combo cast laced wheels which come equipped with Harley-Davidson’s Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Dual 320mm diameter front disc brakes with four piston Brembo calipers make sure both new CVO models have stopping power for the road ahead.
Ergonomics on both the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide are improved for 2023 as well: Premium seats come standard, like previous CVO models, and with flatter and wider handlebars the rider triangle is optimized for touring comfort. Adjustable levers provide additional relief for rider fatigue. New SHOWA remote-adjustable rear shocks increase suspension travel by up to 50%, further improving rider comfort. All the ergonomics in the world won’t help when the wind turns cold though, but the new CVO models have that covered too. Heated grips and prewired connections for heated gear come standard on both motorcycles.
